- it was necessary to pitch correct all tracks, source 1 was running too fast and the other source, slightly
too slow.
- most of the tuning, etc between tracks is missing
- there are a number of tracks where the first few notes have been clipped
- Big Railroad Blues has a couple of very minor cuts starting at 0:33
- Loser has a dropout of 4 seconds from 4:32
- Good Lovin' has a cut at 4:45 of approximately 2:50
- TOO has a couple of small tape problems and a cut at 13:37 with approximately 36 seconds missing
- only the first 9 seconds of Me And Bobby McGee is present
- UJB is missing the first 22 seconds missing and small dropout at 0:11
- some hiss reduction has been applied to source 1 but a fair amount still remains
- both sources have been remastered with Izotope Ozone and Waves

Subject: Nice vintage audience tapes...

I like this show. I haven't heard every song yet, so I am not sure whose tapes- Marty's or Uncle Barry's- I am hearing so far. I notice the outdoor environment is much more forgiving than those old hockey rinks with respect to getting a decent sound. There are a bunch of tapes of different bands playing at Gaelic Park in the early seventies and they tend to be pretty good recordings compared to other audience- recorded dates by the same bands at other venues during that era.
I wonder if Uncle Barry is a tape trader who used to live in the Bronx - if so, hello from Toronto...
Oh, P.S.- the rating... I guess 3 stars because it is a good tape from a great era, making it kind of average, with a high bar, know what I mean?

Thanx Marty and SirMick. I have never heard this show. The sound is eneven throughout and the vocals seem a bit hot at times. But throw all that out the window and this is a pretty nice little recording. Unless you are a soundboard snob, you will want to check this out for DL. Jerry's Guitar is loud and clear, whereas the complaint in the SBs is that he is too quiet. This show is typical of the raunchy, sloppy Dead of this brief period. In fact, Pigpen's last show until December.
I know I have heard it elsewhere, can't remember what show(s), but Bob sings the Northbound Train verse during the Rider. Spacey Other One is my highlight. Check out the pure unbridled joy in the scream one of the concertgoers lets go as they go back into Not Fade. I will giggle always when hearing this. Gotta love having such a good time. Peace
